Alamance County Emergency Management works with local governments, public safety agencies, community organizations, businesses, and residents to prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters that may affect our community.
What We Do
Emergency Management works year-round to help our community prepare for a wide range of hazards and emergencies. Our responsibilities include:
- Emergency Preparedness – Developing plans, coordinating resources, and supporting preparedness efforts throughout the County.
- Emergency Response – Coordinating with local, state, and federal partners during emergencies and disasters.
- Hazard Mitigation – Identifying hazards and supporting projects and strategies that reduce future risks and losses.
- Public Information – Providing residents with timely information and resources before, during, and after emergencies.
- Training & Exercises – Working with emergency responders, government agencies, businesses, and community partners to improve emergency preparedness and coordination.
- Community Resilience – Helping individuals, organizations, and communities become better prepared to withstand and recover from emergencies.
