About Alamance County 911
Alamance County Central Communications serves as the county's primary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), providing 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services. We are the vital link between our community and the public safety agencies that protect it.
From the moment a call comes into our center, our telecommunicators work to gather accurate and important information, determine the appropriate response, and provide that information to our responders.
Our team routinely manages multiple calls and incidents at the same time while maintaining communication with units in the field.
Behind every call is a person who needs help, and behind every response is a telecommunicator working to make sure that help gets where it needs to go.
At Alamance County 911, we understand that our role is more than answering the phone. Every call matters, and every second counts.
We are the first, and often unseen, connection between our community and the people responding to their emergency.
Emergency Dispatch & Training
Our telecommunicators utilize nationally recognized emergency dispatch protocols for medical, fire, and law enforcement calls. These protocols provide a consistent approach to gathering critical information, prioritizing emergencies, and delivering potentially life-saving instructions while responders are en route.
All telecommunicators and communications supervisors receive specialized training in emergency call-taking, call prioritization, and pre-arrival instructions. Training includes CPR, airway management, bleeding control, emergency childbirth, and other critical interventions. Through ongoing education, online courses, and practical exercises, our personnel maintain their skills and stay current with evolving protocols, procedures, and technology.
Quality Assurance
Alamance County 911 Communications is committed to maintaining high standards of service through continuous training and quality assurance.
