Commercial development in the county is required to go through the Technical Review Committee process for approval.

Alamance County is a member of the Piedmont Triad Water Quality Partnership.  The group provides educational materials, activities, and reporting assistance across the Triad.

The Planning Department is also certified by the State of North Carolina to provide stream location and classification assessments for properties within our jurisdiction.  Please contact our offices for additional information or to request an assessment.

Alamance County adopted an update to the Alamance County Land Development Plan in November 2020.  This plan serves as a guide to help our community make land use decisions and to provide for the orderly growth and development of the County.
